I don't like him like that but he said he 'fell' for 'me'?

used to have a fake account on a social site meaning it wasn't my own pictures. One day this girl found out and exposed me to everyone. This one close friend I had on there started a blog asking about me and where I went. This person who I talked to on there as a friend though I never flirted with him and he knew I liked someone else told me he had a crush on 'me'. However on the blog someone said oh 'it's'-(referring to me) pictures were fake. He said I was one of the ones who fell for it. However I don't get why he'd say that because if he truly 'fell' for me then he should have fallen for my personality as well, right?
